Winslow Twp. Seniors Have New Activity Bus to Cruise Town

Seniors in a Camden County community now have some new wheels to travel around town.

On Wednesday, January 31st,¬†Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. joined Winslow Township Mayor Barry Wright and other local officials to present the keys to the township’s new activity bus for seniors.

The bus was purchased with the help of $96,000 in community development block grants from the Camden County Office of Community Development.

Officials say the bus is just one way to show their appreciation to seniors in the community.

“The seniors, you know, they’re such an important part of our community and it’s a moral obligation that we have to really take care of them and help them out with their needs in these golden years,” said Wright.¬†“We should make them golden for them.”

The full-sized bus, equipped with a wheelchair lift, will provide disabled and senior Winslow Township residents with access to the Township’s Senior Center, local shopping centers, markets, and banks.

Transportation on the bus will begin by early spring.
