‘The Magi-Tour Travel Show’ to showcase NEAD talent

OSCODA – The Northeast Academy of Dance will present “The Magi-Tour Travel Show” on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 9-10, on the Mary Anne Bartels Auditorium stage at Oscoda High School.

Tickets are $13 for adults, $11 for seniors and $6 for students and  will be available at the door. Curtain time on Saturday is at 7 p.m. and the Sunday matinée is at 2 p.m. One dollar from each ticket will go towards the auditorium restoration project.

The production is directed and choreographed by academy co-directors Giuseppe Canale and Scott Heinrich. It was conceived and written by Heinrich. 

The 75-minute spectacle will showcase dances from all over the world, including Africa, China, Greece, Ireland and the Philippines, with several more cultural dances to be experienced along its  “tour.”

Host of the tour is local actor Tina Wells as the travel agent. Her husband, Jay, will portray an agency customer. They will be accompanied by NEAD students performing 22 selections as they perform an  energetic and colorful visual of Canale’s and Heinrich’s imaginative and demanding dances.
