LifeStream is now serving Rush County seniors

LifeStream Services is now serving seniors and people with disabilities in Rush County. The former Area 9 Agency in Richmond transitioned its services for seniors and people with disabilities to LifeStream on July 1. The organization continues to offer programs and services such as in-home care management, senior meal delivery and cafes, information and assistance, and other services to help individuals remain in their homes.

The public is invited to attend an open house from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9 at the new LifeStream Richmond office. The community is invited to meet staff members, as well as learn more about how LifeStream is serving the community. The office is located at 423 Commerce Rd. Richmond, IN 47374.

LifeStream Services is an Area Agency on Aging and East Central Indiana’s Aging and Disability Resource Center. It is LifeStream’s mission to improve the quality of life for people at risk of losing their independence.

LifeStream Services serves 23,500 seniors, people with disabilities, and others at risk of losing their independence in 12 counties in Indiana including Blackford, Delaware, Fayette, Franklin, Grant, Henry, Jay, Madison, Randolph, Rush, Union, and Wayne counties. Rush County Senior Café Information:

LifeStream contracts with the Rush County Senior Center to provide nutritious meals at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday through Friday to area seniors. The site is located at 504 W. 3rd St. Rushville, IN 46173. Lunch is provided to those 60 years of age and older and spouse for a suggested donation of $2.50. Those under the age of 60 can enjoy a meal for a small fee. Please call the Senior Center at 765-932-2935 in advance to reserve your spot. For home-delivered meals, please call 800-589-1121.

Rush County Transportation Information:

LifeStream contracts with the Rush County Senior Center to provide transportation in Rush County. Transportation is available from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Base fare is $2 and it is $1 for seniors and youth. Please call 765-932-2935 to schedule a ride.
