Entrepreneur is set to open in home care facility for seniors

(Springfield, Mo.–12/14/17) A Springfield man is opening a new health care agency to meet an increase in demand.

“Helping people is what I stand for,” explains Ashwin Modayil, President of Right at Home Springfield.

Ashwin says his mission is to keep people in their homes for as long as possible after caring for his father in India.

“He had gone from this tall strapping man to emaciated gone to balding and slowly using his ability to speak as well.”

He adds he made a promise to his father to keep him at home.

That’s where he wanted to be, he was tired of being wheeled in and out of hospitals and all of these other care settings and I made him that promise.

But unfortunately the disease just had a ravaging effect on his body which required advanced care, forcing his dad back into another health care facility.

“That has had a profound impact on my life cause I couldn’t keep that promise for him and effected what business opportunities I decided to consider.”

That’s when the entrepreneur decided to move back to Springfield to help change the lives of others.

“If I can get people staying in their home as comfortable for as long as I possibly can then that’s a personal goal of mine.”

He says he wants to open right at home so he can grow with the senior population and invest his time and energy to make services available.

“You’re seeing an exponential growth in in the aging baby boomers in this country whose going to need these sorts of services.”

Now Ashwin’s passion for helping others and giving back is evident in his dedication.

“I’ve learned that the focus needs to be on the patient and what they need to feel well.”

Right to home in Springfield is set to open in January.
