Term kick-off

Master the Possibilities will hold a winter term kick-off from 1:30-4 p.m. Friday in the living room of Master the Possibilities, 8415 SW 80th St., Suite 2, Ocala. The theme for the winter is “How It All Works”, and courses and trips will be centered around this theme. The kick-off will include course highlights, learning labs to meet faculty and a sneak peak of courses, which include topics such as history, espionage, travel and more. Calligraphy guild

The Ocala Calligraphy Guild will meet at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Appleton Museum of Art, 4333 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala. Jackie Tanner will teach how to make “mini boxes” embellished with calligraphy. Free. Email ocalacalligraphy@yahoo.com.

Sunday Sampler

Historic exhibit

“On the Edge of the Florida Frontier: Perspectives on Life at Fort King,” an exhibit organized by the Gulf Archaeology Research Institute, will run from Jan. 17-April 8 at the Appleton Museum of Art, 4333 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala. Hours of operation are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and noon-5 p.m. Sunday. An opening reception will be held 5-7 p.m. Jan. 26.
